The Marshall Lab at the Department of Immunology, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking a Research Associate or Post-doctoral Fellow to join a team working on a project studying the signal transduction and metabolic pathways controlling B lymphocyte activation in health and autoimmune disease. The successful applicant will help lead a 5-year CIHR-funded project grant defining key elements of B cell metabolic reprogramming required for functional immune responses, and determining how B cell metabolism is dysregulated in autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

The ideal candidate would have a strong academic background in Immunology or related biomedical sciences and hands-on research experience in some or many of the following areas: phenotypic analysis of immune cells using flow cytometry, primary human or mouse immune cell cultures and functional assays, mouse models, antibody/cytokine assays, metabolic assays, Western blots, qRT-PCR, RNAseq or mass spectrometry analyses. Experience working with bioinformatics analysis including Python/R-based analysis tools would be an asset.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in multiple research projects resulting in multiple first-author and co-author manuscripts to build a strong publication track record. As well, the position will have opportunities for training and supervision of (under)graduate students. The salary range is $45,000 - $70,000 per annum (40 hours/week), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
